Holistic pain management

Get to the root of the pain

While acute pains represent lifes important warning signals, they can develop into a painful illness if they are not treated promptly, or, if insufficiently treated.

Sensitization taken into account

Recent research shows that sensitization may occur within the nervous system. This can lead to even minor stimuli which are normally not rated as pain, triggering a strong painful sensation, or that, normal light painful stimuli are felt as unusually intense pain. These sensitizations can develop at all levels of the peripheral, central and autonomic nervous system and must be taken into account with a reasonable pain management therapy for the patient.

Every painful illness has a reason

Holistic therapy devotes itself to always searching for the cause of the illness in addition to treating the pain. Traumas, unsuitable nutritional habits, metabolic problems, environmental influences, physical overexertion, injuries, immune system disorders, as well as, health constitution and genetic disposition, count as the most important factors, which in total can collectively take part in the development of an illness. Damaging factors must be found by an extension of the normal diagnostic spectrum so as to be able to directly treat them.

After the holistic medical diagnostics follows an individualised treatment plan

The whole therapy plan for the treatment of chronic pain promises the greatest success when it equally includes the treatment of the symptoms and the deeper underlying causes of the pain. For successful treatment it is decisive to find the single most effective procedure from the many possible alternatives and to put it to best use

Special attention is paid to the four basic principles of Hippocratic medicine.

  • First, do no harm
  • Support the self-healing of nature
  • All at the right time and in the right amount
  • Take care of the individual’s health
